Don’t let plummeting temperatures and dark skies damper your winter…
Throw on a few layers and make your way into the city for Winter Fest – a free, action-packed program overflowing with music, theatre and fun activities for the whole family.
Winter Fest Theatre
Get into the spirit of this city-wide celebration every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in July with Winter Fest Theatre in Forrest Place.
Family friendly highlights include the Balloonies at 9am on Saturday July 14 and Sunday July 15. Described as Play School meets the Wiggles with a whole bunch of balloons thrown in for good measure, Balloonies promises to make weekend shopping expeditions go pop!
Stick around after Balloonies for Snors Travelling Circus. A wild, wacky and downright wonderful celebration of comedy, vaudeville and circus tricks, this action-packed show has already won over audiences in New Zealand, Byron Bay and Sydney and now Lil Tulloch and George Le Couteur are ready to amuse and entertain little ones on the west coast.
Once the sun goes down and the ankle biters head home to count sheep, adults are invited to come out to play with Cabaret Moonstruck. A fire spitting, back bending, hoop spinning extravaganza, this awe-inspiring variety show crams all of the fun of Fringe World into one night.
Turn to the skies and marvel as the heavens open on shoppers every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in July.
Be ready with your camera when make-believe snow magically falls above the west end of Hay Street Mall in 10 minute intervals between 5pm and 8pm on Fridays and 2pm to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Winter Fest Dome
Located a stone’s throw from Forrest Chase, Yagan Square will play host to some of WA’s finest performers during Winter Fest.
Perth raised ‘acid tongue prince’ Joel Creasey will tickle funny bones while pushing the boundaries of comedy when he steps into the spotlight at the Dome on Thursday July 19.
Fresh from walking the red carpet at the Logies and hosting SBS’ royal wedding coverage alongside Myf Warhurst and Ray Martin, the blonde bombshell promises to raise eyebrows with his Winter Fest show.
The week following Creasey’s home town return, fans of hits including Faith, Freedom and Too Funky are invited to join the Perth Symphony Orchestra for a George Michael tribute from 6pm on Thursday July 26.
While there’s free entry to all Winter Fest performances, you will need to reserve your seats in advance via OzTix.
